The Fayetteville Police Department is investigating a shooting that happened Friday night near South School Avenue and 11th Street.
According to FPD, officers received several calls concerning multiple shots fired at approximately 11:20 p.m. Friday.
Sergeant Stephen Mauk said as officers arrived at the area, they stopped a vehicle they believed to be involved in the shooting. Two people were inside the car.
One of the occupants, a juvenile male, had a gun and appeared to have gunshot wounds to his legs. He was taken to the hospital with non-life-threatening injuries and released.
The juvenile was then taken to the Juvenile Detention Center. He is charged with being a minor in possession of a firearm.
The second occupant, an adult driver, was arrested for contributing to the delinquency of a minor.
Officers found another vehicle at a nearby apartment complex that appeared to have been hit by gunfire.
There are no other injured people or suspects at this time. The investigation is still ongoing.
