Tyler County authorities ask for help finding missing 77-year-old man released from hospital

HILLISTER, Texas (KTRE) - Authorities are trying to find a Tyler County man who went missing after being discharged from a hospital in Houston.

The Tyler County Sheriff’s Office is asking for the public’s help to locate Weldon Johnson Foster, 77. Foster was in a hospital in Houston from injuries sustained in a wreck, authorities said, and he went missing after being discharged. Foster is from Hillister, which is a community south of Woodville.

A sheriff’s office release on Saturday evening said Foster’s vehicle is in a wrecker yard, but no information is available on where he may be headed.

Authorities said Foster may be wearing a Vietnam veteran hat. He is described as a Black male, 5′6″ tall, with a weight of 145 lbs, a white beard and brown eyes.
