High-speed chase hits 110 mph before ending in fiery crash

SAN ANTONIO - Five people were detained early Wednesday morning after crashing a vehicle during a chase with authorities where speeds reached 110 mph.

The chase started around 2 a.m. when Bexar County Sheriff's deputies spotted a suspicious vehicle off Shaenfield Road and West Loop 1604 North on the Far Northwest Side.

While deputies tried to pull the vehicle over, the driver took off and the chase ensued. With speeds topping at 110 mph, the driver crashed the vehicle on U.S. Highway 90 and Military Drive West.

The vehicle caught fire, but all five were able to safely get out of car.

No word on any charges yet, but the investigation is ongoing.
