MANOA, Hawaii (Island News) -- Honolulu Police (HPD) still searching for answers on what triggered a quadruple homicide in Manoa on Sunday
This murder case is now Hawaii's second deadliest mass murder in modern history behind the 1999 Xerox shootings that killed seven people.
Police say they got an anonymous call at 8:30 a.m. Sunday. When they arrived on scene and entered the home, they found a father, mother, and three children dead from stab wounds.
Police have not released victims' names, but several neighbors told Island News the father was Paris Oda, a chiropractor originally from Kauai. His wife was a stay-at-home mom to their three children, ages 17, 12, and 10. Neighbors say the youngest attended Manoa Elementary.

Neighbors tell Island News they are distressed over the deaths on their usually quiet street. Most did not want to go on camera, but one neighbor, an airline worker, said he came home to a street packed with police cars and crime scene tape.
"So I just back in from a flight this morning, and my cousin who lives with me here, she just texted me and said a homicide had happened, or something yes, this is a super quiet neighborhood that nothing ever happens here, it's so quiet, you could walk around at night and not care, I just know they're a younger family, they're friendly neighbors, no problems with them ever," said neighbor Hiro Izumo.
Izumo and other neighbors say the victims' house was usually well-decorated during the holidays -- except for this past Christmas.
