5.7 magnitude earthquake strikes 100 miles off Oregon coast, no tsunami expected

MEDFORD Ore. (KPTV) - A series of earthquakes, with the largest nearly a 6 magnitude, shook off the southern Oregon coast Tuesday night.

The first, a 3.0 magnitude happened around 8:14 p.m. on March 26, about 200 miles west of Medford.

Just eight minutes later, a 4.4 magnitude quake hit in the same area, followed by a 5.7 magnitude one minute later.

Eleven minutes after that quake, a 3.5 magnitude quake struck, followed by a 4.1 magnitude quake 15 minutes later.

No tsunami was expected, according to NOAA.
