BRPD: 63-year-old woman dies after being hit by vehicle while attempting to cross street

BATON ROUGE, La. (WAFB) - A woman is dead after being hit by a vehicle while attempting to cross the street on Thursday morning, March 28.
According to the Baton Rouge Police Department, a 63-year-old woman was trying to cross the street on Great Smokey Avenue when she was hit just before 7 a.m. by a vehicle driving through a green light down Monterrey Boulevard.
Police said there were no signs of impairment or violations on the driver’s behalf.
The East Baton Rouge Parish Coroner’s Office responded to the scene.
The victim’s identity has not been released.
