Man dies after fall from hood of wife’s car during argument

HOLLAND, MI – A man has died of injuries suffered Monday, March 25, when he fell from the hood of his wife’s car.

Robert Baltazar Leon, 45, of Grand Haven, died that night at an area hospital, Holland police said.

The incident happened around 12:35 p.m. while the man and his 44-year-old wife argued while parked at Wendy’s restaurant, 816 East 16th St., police said. During the argument the man got out of the 2009 Dodge Charger and his wife locked the doors.

As she started to drive from the parking lot to leave, her husband jumped on the hood. She turned left onto a private drive between Wendy’s and Fifth Third Bank where her husband fell and struck his head on the pavement, police said.

Police said the incident remains under investigation.
