CHAMPAIGN — The Chambana Film Festival has announced new independent film screening opportunities in Champaign County.
Already scheduled is a three-month screening series at the Savoy 16 + IMAX, starting on Sunday, March 31, with a free screening of the narrative feature film "QWERTY," a romantic drama/comedy about two misfits who fall in love.
The award-winning film, released in 2012, was produced by festival founder Nat Dykeman. The film will be followed by a Q&A with Dykeman.
The second film on the schedule, on Sunday, April 28, is the Japanese drama "Trapped Balloon," starring Tôko Miura from the Oscar-winning film "Drive My Car."Â
The documentary "Bike Vessel" will screen on Sunday, May 26. After undergoing the first of three quadruple bypass surgeries, Donnie Seals, Sr. and his son, Eric, decide to take on the 300-mile bike ride from St. Louis to Chicago in four days. Schedule permitting, Eric Seals will be on hand to talk about the film.

All screenings are at 4 p.m. "QWERTY" is presented as a free screening, and the other two films have a ticket price of $10.
