AUSTIN (KXAN) — Our risk for severe weather has faded and only isolated showers and storms are possible in our eastern counties through late evening. The Tornado Watch has been cancelled after storms produced a confirmed tornado in Milam County Sunday afternoon.
Monday
Overnight into Monday morning we’ll turn our attention to the potential for thick fog. Sunday’s widespread rain, plus the continuing humid air, will mean fog could be dense in some spots early Monday morning.
Plan on taking your time for the morning commute.
By late morning the fog lifts away revealing plenty of sun. That sunshine should help push temperatures well into the 80s to near 90 degrees. There will be a lot of instability in the atmosphere on Monday, but not necessarily a well defined trigger for storms. Should storms be able to develop, they could turn severe quickly.
Southeastern areas are in a level 1 out of 5 severe weather risk on Monday.
Large hail and damaging winds would be our primary risk on Monday.
Rest of the week
Rain and storm coverage increases each day before peaking on Thursday. Rain chances remain elevated through next weekend with no drier stretch in sight.
Our highest threat for flash flooding comes on Thursday. The Weather Prediction Center already has much of the area in a level 2 out of 4 for flash flooding Thursday.
It’s possible some areas end up with several inches of rain by the end of next weekend.
