TAMPA, Fla. (WFLA) — Former President Donald Trump may have spent the primary season slamming Florida Gov. Ron DeSantis, but Republican voters want to see the “Florida men” join forces.

A new poll from YouGov found 64% of Republicans and Republican-leaning independent voters, when asked if they approved or disapproved of DeSantis as Trump’s running mate, indicated they would be OK with it.

DeSantis outshone the other Republicans in the poll, including some of his primary rivals like former U.N. Ambassador Nikki Haley, Vivek Ramaswamy and South Carolina Sen. Tim Scott. Haley had just 35% approval.

Interestingly, Florida Sen. Marco Rubio didn’t make the list, even though he’s reportedly being considered for the VP role. Rubio said he hasn’t heard from anyone in “Trump world” about the possibility of being his Vice Presidential candidate.

DeSantis has previously indicated that he does not want to be Trump’s No. 2.
