Authorities are offering up to a $1,000 reward as they look for a third person who tried to carjack a luxury vehicle last week in the parking lot of an Edison grocery store.
Two teenagers from Rahway were arrested Wednesday, five days after the trio failed in their attempt to carjack a Bentley SUV outside Patel Brothers in Edison.
Edison police released surveillance photos Friday of a man wearing a white T-shirt, black pants and black sneakers while carrying a gray jacket.
The reward is being offered by the Middlesex County Crimestoppers for information leading to that person’s arrest. Tips can be submitted anonymously here or by calling 800-939-9600.

When the driver parked and opened the door shortly before 5 p.m. on March 15 outside the Edison grocery store, the two teens and the third person confronted him, authorities said.
The trio tried to pull him out of the vehicle and start the SUV, but the driver broke free and ran into the store to call police.
The driver had the key fob in his pocket, so the would-be carjackers were unable to steal the vehicle and they ran east on Oak Tree Road. They were later seen on surveillance video boarding an NJ Transit train at Metropark. The three exited the train one stop away in Rahway, authorities said.
One teen was taken into custody in Rahway, the other in Linden, Edison police said. Both are being held at a juvenile detention facility.
