THE future is looking bright for Scotland with the national team currently on the rise under Steve Clarke.

The Tartan Army are gearing up for Euro 2024 in Germany this summer and will be aiming to make it back-to-back tournaments when the 2026 World Cup comes around.

Ex-Kilmarnock boss Clarke has plenty of talent to choose from, including the likes of Andy Robertson, John McGinn and Scott McTominay.

But they won't be around forever and fans will be keeping a close eye on their next crop of heroes and who will be leading the way at future tournaments.

And there's one young player who is not only regarded Scotland's next big hope, but is rated as one of the best teenagers in world football.

Liverpool wonderkid and ex-Celtic starlet Ben Doak is currently the name on every Scots' lips following his recent rise to stardom down south.

The 18-year-old was snapped up by Liverpool aged 16 in March 2022 after he attracted the interest of several top English clubs for his performances in the Hoops youth ranks.

He was given his first team debut in a Premiership match against Dundee United by Ange Postecoglou shortly before his exit and was even brought off the bench for a brief cameo against Rangers at Parkhead for his first taste of an Old Firm derby.

But despite being on the cusp of the first team in Glasgow, he decided to leave for Anfield and it's a move that has seemingly worked out so far.

Despite his young age, Doak has already 10 appearances for the first team under Jurgen Klopp - including three starts in the Europa League against LASK, Toulouse and Union SG.

It's likely he would have featured in the last-16 double header with Sparta Prague too but he is currently sidelined with a meniscus tear.

His recent form has earned him huge plaudits from manager Klopp and he was previously tipped to join Clarke's senior squad for Euro 2024 before he was struck down with his latest setback.

Clarke is in no rush to bring him into the spotlight and is happy for him to continue featuring for the under-21s team for the time being.

But there's nothing he can do to avoid attention being shone on the young star as he continues to impress with the Reds.

And while he is considered Scotland's best young prospect, he has also been tipped to take the world by storm.

Doak has been named in a prestigious list which includes some of the biggest prospects in world football.

The list has been created by GOAL and it details the top 50 players under the age of 19 from across the globe.

And the former Celtic kid features among some big names.
