GREENVILLE, N.C. (WNCT) — Depending on where you live, you might see some flooded roads Thursday morning and some counties may see up to several inches of rain from a weather system making its way through the area.

Experts say low-lying areas and low-lying streets are some spots to keep in mind. Crews are also getting prepared as “closed roadway signs” were placed on the side of Arlington Road in Greenville, an area commonly prone to flooding. Emergency management officials said they’re prepared as they’re tracking the rain as it moves across Eastern North Carolina.

“We always want to caution people that anytime we see that amount of rain in that short amount of time to always be safe as you’re traveling down the highways.” Randy Gentry, director of Emergency Management of Pitt County.
