CAMDEN, Del. – Two New York men were arrested earlier this week on identity theft charges.

At around 1 p.m. Tuesday, troopers were called to the Music and Arts Speciality Store in Camden after two men allegedly tried to purchase items using stolen IDs and fake credit cards. Troopers saw the men, later identified as 31-year-old Richard Morgan and 31-year-old Trevin Griffith, leaving the store. Griffith reportedly ran across Dupont Highway and was seen getting rid of something from his pocket.

Troopers were able to detain both men, and recovered a fake credit card that Griffith discarded. After searching the store and reviewing surveillance footage, troopers found another fake credit card and ID in a trash dumpster and underneath a vehicle that Morgan tried to discard.

Morgan was charged with identity theft, four counts of possession of tools facilitating identity theft, attempted theft over $1500, attempted unlawful use of a fictitious payment card over $1500, tampering with evidence, and second degree conspiracy. He was held at SCI on a $38,000 secured bond.
