Frankie Montas Struggles in Cincinnati Reds' 7-3 Loss to Kansas City Royals

The Reds lost to the Royals 7-3 on Sunday afternoon. It's their third-straight loss this spring. 

Frankie Montas got through 2.2 innings before being replaced by Andrew Moore. 

Montas gave up seven hits, four runs, one walk, and two home runs. Moore gave up a homer to Nick Loftin, which extended the Royals lead to 5-2. Lyon Richardson also gave up a run. 

The Reds started the game off with a double from TJ Friedl who had a big day. Friedl finished the game hitting 3-for-3 with two runs before being replaced by Bubba Thompson.

Jose Barrero went 1-for-2 on the day, including a solo home run.

Blake Dunn hit a double to improve to 4-for-4 this spring. He did strikeout later in the game. 

Rhett Lowder pitched on Sunday. He allowed back-to-back singles before getting a ground out. He then walked Drew Walters and gave up a sacrifice fly. He finished the inning up and came out for another inning’s work. He gave up a double, but didn't give up another run.
