ANDERSON, Ohio (WKRC) - A Greater Cincinnati high school said a student recorded an inappropriate video on the school's premises.

Anderson High School officials sent out an email Wednesday informing parents, students and staff that its administrative team "became aware of allegations of a student inappropriately recording video in the school" Tuesday afternoon.

Officials wrote that they immediately launched an investigation, which included notifying school resource officers. The school confirmed it is "working with them closely" in its response.

Anderson High School officials wrote that as of today the Hamilton County Sheriff's Office has taken over the investigation and confirmed it will cooperate with police moving forward.

"Keeping students safe is of the utmost importance, and we will work quickly to investigate all situations concerning the well-being of students, staff or visitors. Anderson High School has taken appropriate disciplinary action against the student and law enforcement will take any legal action they deem necessary," school officials wrote.

The school wrote that the information provided in its statement was all that it was permitted to share due to confidentiality laws and "the sensitivity of the ongoing criminal investigation."

"Thank you for your support and understanding. We share messages like this to keep families informed of important information so we can work together to create a safe and secure environment for everyone at Anderson High School," the school wrote.
