Devon Toews sold his 6,000-square-foot Belcaro mansion last month for $240,000 under its list price. The $3.75 million sale closed on Feb. 12.

Last year, Towes signed a seven-year contract extension with the NHL’s Colorado Avalanche. He listed the mansion on Jan. 11 for $3.99 million.

Toews and his wife, Kerry, bought the mansion on the 800 block of South Steele Street in March 2021 for $2.9 million.

The six-bedroom, five-bath home, constructed in 2020, has two fireplaces. The first-floor open floor plan includes a kitchen with an island, dining area, living room and office space.

The primary suite on the second floor includes a five-piece bath. The finished basement includes a wet bar with a built-in wine refrigerator and a recreation room.

Rachel Quincey with LUX Living represented the Toews.

Lisa M. Taylor with Compass-Denver represented the buyer, the Kathryn A. Valdez Revocable Trust. Valdez is the assistant vice president of corporate planning and carbon-free tech strategy for Xcel Energy.

Toews’ seven-year contract extension inked last October was for $50.75 million, or an annual salary of $7.25 million. He helped the Avalanche win the Stanley Cup in the 2022 season.
