Shredding events
The Bermuda Run Garden Club will have a shredding event from 9 a.m. to noon April 13 in the Bermuda Run Town Hall parking lot, 120 Kinderton Blvd., Bermuda Run, off U.S. 158 just west of the entrance to Truist Soccer Park. The cost is $5 (cash only) per paper grocery bag or equivalent size box. For more information, call 336-650-5518. Proceeds will benefit Davie County community programs.
Fairview Moravian Church, 6550 Silas Creek Parkway, Winston-Salem, will hold a shredding event from 9 a.m. to noon April 13 in the lower parking lot. A donation of $5 per bag or box is suggested. Proceeds will benefit service projects, both locally and globally.
Mount Tabor United Methodist Church, 3543 Robinhood Road, Winston-Salem, will have a shredding event from 9 a.m. to noon April 13. Monetary donations will benefit food programs serving children in Forsyth County and other missions of Tabor Women. Cash or checks accepted. Make checks payable to UMW Circle 5.

Main Street United Methodist Church, 306 S. Main St., Kernersville, will have a shredding event from 9 a.m. to noon April 13. The cost is $5 per box.
The Shepherd’s Center of Greater Winston-Salem, 1700 Ebert St., Winston-Salem, will have an identity theft/fraud prevention shred-a-thon from 9 a.m. to noon April 20. Documents will be shredded onsite in the lower parking lot. Please bring paper only. Do not include trash, metal or plastic. Donations of $5 per file box or grocery size bag are requested. Proceeds will benefit the mission of promoting and supporting successful aging.
West Bend Masonic Lodge will have a shred event at Lewisville Elementary School, in the bus parking lot beneath the water tower in Lewisville from 9 a.m. to noon April 20. A $5 donation is requested for each bag or box. Proceeds will benefit the Bikes for Books reading programs at Lewisville and Morgan Elementary schools.
Mount Carmel Methodist Church, 4265 Ebert Road, Winston-Salem, will have a shredding event from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m. April 27. A $5 donation for each bag or box is requested. Proceeds will benefit local mission projects.
New Philadelphia Moravian Church, 4440 Country Club Road, Winston-Salem, will have a shredding event from 9 a.m. to noon May 11. The cost is $5 per box. Enter from Kilpatrick Street. We unload. You do not have to get out of your vehicle. Sponsored by the Advent Class. Proceeds will benefit outreach ministries of the Moravian Church. First Street closure on Monday
First Street, between Shady Boulevard and Poplar Street in Winston-Salem, will be closed from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. Monday so crews can remove a tree.
