Manchester United are already moving on the summer transfer plans it seems, with one player being mentioned more than others.

The centre-half position was always going to be a priority this summer for Manchester United given injury woes this campaign, along with likely departures coming up.

This has seen several names tipped as options for Erik ten Hag to strengthen his defence with the likes of Antonio Silva, Jarrad Branthwaite and Jean-Clair Todibo being most heavily linked in recent months.

But aside from the big-money targets for the first-team, United are also planning for the future, with some defensive wonder kids being looked at.

Dean Huijsen of Juventus is one while the other is Boca Juniors teenager Aaron Anselmino. Now the latter has been linked once more, let’s find out what the latest is.

Ineos have a plan for Aaron Anselmino

Aaron Anselmino might’ve been handed a real reason to consider making the move to Old Trafford this summer, as he might previously have been concerned about game time.

According to TuttoSport, United are joined by Benfica, AC Milan and Everton in chasing the 18-year-old ‘jewel‘ this summer.

It’s a move which shows real initiative from United, as Anselmino would be one for the future and they’d treat him as such.

But interestingly the report continues to explain that United would plan to sign the £15m Argentine before sending him on loan to Nice to develop who are of course, a club owned by Ineos, where Todibo developed into a top defender.

This move would also tie into what Graeme Bailey told United in Focus last week regarding South America as a real possibility for United to be shopping.

This would serve Manchester United well

Ineos using what could be effectively a multi-club model in loaning talented youngsters to the likes of Lausanne and Nice, will do wonders for United.

Having a pathway for young talents like this will give United an edge in convincing prospects to join Old Trafford, where previously there didn’t seem to be a route or plan at all.

Signing Anselmino would be a huge statement from United that they intend to utilise the global scouting that we’ve all known to suggest some talents who’ve gone on to shine.

Very encouraging signs from Sir Jim Ratcliffe, so hopefully Anselmino will be a player who signs this summer.
