England's pair of new kits to be worn at Euro 2024 have, as ever, drawn a mixed reaction from fans.

Manufacturers Nike have produced a classic white and navy home kit, with a V-neck collar on the shirt, while the away kit is all purple with an eye-catching side panel of various colours. The strips will be worn by the England men's side, the Lionesses and England's para teams.

Both kits were unveiled at 8am on Monday and social media was quickly ablaze with reaction. "Oh my god, they're unreal," one delighted fan posted. Another added: "Both incredible." "Quite like the away kit, apart from the multi-coloured side panels," a third admitted.

It was indeed the away kit which drew the most scrutiny.

The Three Lions are among the favourites to win this summer's Euro 2024 tournament and you can get your hands on the brand new Nike home and away kits before the first whistle.

With its bold colour scheme, a description reads: "The England 2024 away kit reimagines iconic kits from the past with a modern twist, making a bold statement with an eye-catching purple - a modern mix of classic blue and red England change kits of the past. The graphic side panels feature seven different colours with a nod to English fashion, while also giving the flag of St. George on the collar a standout style."

But not everyone was on board, as one unimpressed user posted on X: "That away kit is honking," Another claimed: "Away looks like a warm up top or at least training top."

A third explained: "The away kit is just not an England kit, they've tried something different but I am unsure on it."

The topic of England's away kit not being the traditional red also came back into focus, with one supporter asking: "Does anyone else miss seeing the red England kit?" Another bemoaned: "I've never been a fan of non-red away kits for England… and the collar on the home seems off to me, too."

One user, however, pointed out the fact that England's first ever away kit wasn't even red. "England's first away kit was blue anyway," they wrote. "I know people moan when it’s not red. Don’t get me wrong I would prefer a red kit. But it could be a classic - very regal gold and purple."

There was also criticism of how on both shirts, it's difficult to see England's World Cup star above the badge. "Why do we try our best to hide our star in every kit?" one puzzled supporter asked. "The World Cup star should be displayed proudly - really poor that it is basically hidden," a second affirmed.

Saturday will see Gareth Southgate's side debut one of their new kits, with England facing Brazil at Wembley. The following Tuesday, the Three Lions will also welcome Belgium to continue their preparation ahead of the European Championships in Germany. England's first fixture will be against Serbia in Gelsenkirchen at 8pm on Sunday, June 16.
