Elsa Pataky has revealed the surprising thing she lets her kids have in their bedrooms as she poked fun at their family morning routine.

The Spanish model, 47, took to Instagram on Tuesday to post an amusing photograph of her daughter India Rose, 11, lying in bed beside two parrots.

The youngster - who Elsa shares with her husband Chris Hemsworth - looked relaxed despite the family's two pet parrots perched on top of her.

In an accompanying caption, Elsa made a joke about their unusual choice of alarm clock as she described it as the 'best way to wake up in the morning'.

She penned: 'The best way to wake up in the morning!', before adding the same comment in Spanish: 'El mejor despertqdor de cada mañana!'

Speaking to Hola! magazine in 2021, she said Chris has a knack for diffusing any argument with a joke.

'We enjoy doing the same stuff and Chris has a great sense of humour and knows how to take the sting out of things,' she said.

'He always makes me and the kids laugh or when I'm angry, he tells a joke to lighten the mood. Humour counts for a lot. More than anything, I enjoy laughing with him.'
