LAS VEGAS (KLAS) — The identities of a woman and two children killed in a crash involving a vehicle and semi-truck are now known.

The crash occurred around 3:30 a.m. on U.S. 93, off the I-15, north of Apex on Wednesday, March 20.

Nevada State police said that a Hyundai Tucson was driving northbound on the U.S. 93 when, for unknown reasons at this time, it crossed into the southbound lane and into the path of a Freightliner tractor that was driving southbound.

According to the Clark County coroner’s office, the driver, Malia Hoenshell, 29, and passengers, Phoenix Henley, 3, and Zaiden Grandon, 9 all from Henderson died “from blunt force injuries” suffered in the crash.

The crash is Nevada State Police Southern Command’s 17th fatal crash, resulting in 19 fatalities for 2024.
