The 39th Film Independent Spirit Awards red carpet took place on Sunday afternoon in Santa Monica at Barker Hangar - one day after the Screen Actors Guild Awards.

The 39th Film Independent Spirit Awards red carpet kicked off on Sunday afternoon in Santa Monica at Barker Hangar - one day after the Screen Actors Guild Awards took place

Jessica, 46, stunned in her midnight blue number, which had nude cut-out details throughout.

The gown had a striking neckline, and featured leafy shapes throughout the look before becoming a fringe detail.

She paired the stunning number with her long red locks loose and in wavy, opting for a deep side part.

Jessica painted her pout a pink lipstick with a touch of rosy blush on her cheeks beneath smokey eye makeup.

Natalie, 42, showcased her toned legs in a two-piece set, which consisted of a cropped cardigan that flashed a hint of her torso and a matching skirt.

Both the top and the bottoms had large three-dimensional roses throughout, paired with matching strappy heels and a small round gold clutch.

Natalie pulled her brunette locks back and sported tiny gold earrings for a delicate touch.

The Film Independent Spirit Awards, Hollywood's premiere event for the independent film and television community, returned for it's 39th annual celebration.

Saturday Night Live star Aidy Bryant hosted the soiree, which took place in Santa Monica, California on Sunday, February 25.

Viewers tuned in to watch the livestream on YouTube, as it will no longer be available on television.

Nominations were announced back in December, with American Fiction, May December, and Past Lives leading the pack with five nods each.

Ali Wong earned Best Lead Performance in a New Scripted series for her work on the Netflix series Beef, just one day after triumphing at the Screen Actors Guild Awards.

During her acceptance speech Ali said: 'Oh man, Steven, Sonny, Jake, and the rest of the cast and amazing crew of Beef, I wouldn't be here without you. This is the best.'

The Independent Spirit Awards have concluded an incredible Awards Season run as she earned top acting honors at the 2024 Screen Actors Guild Awards, 2024 Critics' Choice Awards, 2024 Golden Globe Awards, and perhaps most important the 2023 Primetime Emmy Awards for Beef. 

Beef also won Best New Scripted Series. 

Da'Vine Joy Randolph earned Best Supporting Performance for The Holdovers.

Da'Vine praised the independent film industry in her acceptance speech as she said: 'The Holdovers is a beautiful testament of what can happen when a small group of passionate people are given a chance to come together and tell the story. 

Past Lives ended the night on top as the film earned Best Feature triumphing over All of Us Strangers, American Fiction, May December, Passages, and We Grown Now. 

Director Celine Song shared some heartfelt words as she accepted the prize saying: 'I’ve been tasked with the amazing opportunity to speak on behalf of these amazing, incredible filmmakers up here.

Earlier in the night the 36-year-old filmmaker was recognized individually for the feature as she earned Best Director.

Nick Offerman was recognized in the Best Supporting Performance in a New Scripted Series category for his work in The Last Of Us.

Nominees came from over 27 different countries with budgets ranging from $10,000 to $28 million. Nominees were determined by the Spirit Awards Nominating Committees using the following guidelines: uniqueness of vision, original and provocative subject matter and economy of means. 

'Of all nominated writers, directors, producers and technical artists, 40% are women and 32% are BIPOC (Black, Indigenous and People of Color). Among the nominated performers, 49% are women and 40% are BIPOC. And of all 2024 nominees, 42% are women and 34% are BIPOC,' a press release for the organization states. 

The nominating committees for the show are made up of writers, directors, actors, cinematographers, editors, critics, film festival programmers, casting directors, and other working professionals in the film industry.  

'This year, the Spirit Awards nominating committees are 56% female, 3% Nonbinary, 3% Transgender, and 49% BIPOC; 29% identify as LGBTQ+ and 3% identify as people with disabilities (PWD),' the release adds.
