North Haven gas station robbery leads to one arrest, three at large

NORTH HAVEN — An armed robbery at a local gas station early this morning led to the arrest of a teenage suspect after a shot was fired during a confrontation with an employee.

At approximately 5:30 a.m., four males entered the Citgo Gas Station on Washington Avenue.

According to the North Haven Police Department, one of the suspects brandished a firearm and threatened the store employee.

Meanwhile, the other suspects attempted to access the cash register and store safe behind the counter.

During the incident, a struggle broke out between the suspects and the employee.

One gunshot was fired in the process, but the employee was not hit or injured.

Responding swiftly to the scene, the first two officers from the North Haven Police Department managed to apprehend the suspect who had discharged the firearm.

The arrested individual is a 16-year-old male from Hartford.

The three other suspects involved in the robbery fled the scene and are currently being sought by law enforcement.
