SF man arrested for slashing tires of over 20 vehicles in Richmond District

SAN FRANCISCO (KRON) — A man was arrested Tuesday who police say vandalized more than 20 vehicles in the city’s Richmond District. San Francisco Police Department Richmond station officers responded to 12th Avenue and Anza Street on a report of a vandalism suspect who’d been slashing vehicle tires.

Officers arrived at the scene and located a suspect who matched the description from a nearby vandalism incident that had just occurred. The man was detained by SFPD and identified as 22-year-old Osiel Torres of San Francisco.

During the course of their investigation, officers determined that Torres had vandalized more than 20 vehicles in the area. The suspect was placed under arrest and booked into San Francisco County Jail on 22 charges of felony vandalism.

“The actions of the 911 caller who was one of the victims in this incident, as well as the swift response and diligent investigating by Richmond station officers, led to this great arrest,” said SFPD.

Police say that despite an arrest having been made, the investigation remains ongoing.
