Police said the suspect had a gun and was trying to rob the casino, but no shots were fired inside the casino.
A video from a witness inside the casino shows officers running through the building.
Police said the suspect fled into a wooded area and was later arrested.
"It was probably around 8 when we first heard it everyone was running up through the hallway saying 'get behind something, gun gun'," one witness told WLWT.
One person was injured in the incident. WLWT is working to learn more about the extent of their injuries.
Police said officers were at every exit at the casino IDing people inside their cars.
Dearborn County Sheriff Shane McHenry said they had K9 units and a drone, which helped them locate the suspect.
"I just mainly want to make sure that everybody knew that the scene is safe at this point. You know, with Facebook, social media, there's a lot of uncertainty, and we just want to get the word out that, you know, as far as we're concerned, everything's safe and we do have somebody is in custody," McHenry said.
Officers at the scene say Indiana Gaming Commission is leading the investigation.
Officials say operations at the casino have returned to normal.
