The Milwaukee Brewers' home opener is getting closer. Here's what to know, especially about parking.

The Milwaukee Brewers' grounds crew has removed the outfield's covering at American Family Field. And that, of course, means it's almost time for baseball in Milwaukee.

While the Brewers' regular season opener will be in New York at the end of March, it won't be long before the Crew will be home.

Here's what to know about the Brewers' home opener, including parking — which will look quite different from years' past — how to get tickets and more.

This story will be updated as the regular season approaches. Check back for updates.

When is the Milwaukee Brewers' 2024 regular season opener? And, is it away?

The Brewers regular season kicks off against the New York Mets at Citi Field on March 28. Just in case weather would postpone it, there's a built-in off day March 29.

How do I get tickets to the Milwaukee Brewers home opener?

Brewers tickets, including for the home opener, can be purchased at mlb.com/brewers/tickets or by calling 414-902-4000.

Ticket prices for the home opener range from $22 to $145 (before taxes/fees).

American Family Field debuting new parking system this Brewers season

If you're planning to park at American Family Field this season, there's a new process for that.

Workers will no longer be collecting payments at lot entrances. However, they'll continue to direct fans to parking spaces and help with the new process.

Fans who want to park at the ballpark can:

  • Buy prepaid digital parking, which they'll need to activate by typing in their license plate on the MLB Ballpark App.
  • Purchase day-of parking, which is more expensive, by scanning a QR code posted on signs in the lot and entering their license plate and payment information.

Either way, attendees need to buy parking before entering the stadium to avoid getting ticketed.

Advance parking rates range from $13 to $20, with day-of parking rates ranging from $15 to $40.

Gates primarily open three hours before the start of a game. However, on games that begin at 6:40 p.m. Monday-Thursday, lots open 2½ hours before first pitch.

What is American Family Field's bag policy?

According to the Brewers' website, bags that meet these requirements will be permitted into the ballpark:

  • Single-compartment bags that are 9" x 5" x 2" or smaller.
  • Clear single-compartment bags that are 12" x 12" x 6" or smaller.
  • One-gallon clear seal top bags.
  • Diaper bags and medical/family needs bags.

For more details on the bag policy, visit mlb.com/brewers/ballpark/security. That's also where you can find lists of permitted and prohibited items.

All carry-in items are subject to inspection, the website said.

How is the grounds crew getting ready for the Brewers' home opener?

In preparation for the home opener, the Brewers' grounds crew — led by senior director of grounds Ryan Woodley — removed the 20-piece blanket that was covering Am Fam Field's 2.3-acre outfield Monday, according to a news release from the ball club.

Over the next few weeks, the grounds crew will use agronomical techniques, including the use of grow lamps and natural sunlight, to ensure that the surface is in "perfect condition" for the team's return, the release said.
