Just days after Lana Del Rey released her ninth studio album Did you know that there’s a tunnel under Ocean Blvd. in March 2023, Billboard reported she was newly engaged to Evan Winiker, a fellow musician and talent manager at Range Media. The relationship news *also* came in light of the celeb being spotted wearing a stunning diamond on the red carpet of the Billboard Women in Music Awards.

But in December of that year, Lana shut down engagement rumors herself, saying she was single in an interview with Harper’s Bazaar. Ahead, everything we know about Evan and his 'ship with the star.

Evan works in music

Specifically, Evan is the managing partner of Range Media Partners, a role he's had since March 2021. At the time, Pete Micelli, CEO of the company said, “We are filled with gratitude that Evan has joined our team, he is the epitome of Range—thoughtful, caring, ambitious and inventive in everything he does. We are thrilled that Evan wants to guide the artists he represents into unlocking opportunity in all areas.”

Not only does Evan bring some serious skills to Range Media, but he also brought along an iconic host of clients from his previous agency, Full Stop Management, including MAX, Daya, Disco Biscuits, Skyler Stonestreet, and Walk off the Earth. “As a manager, it’s always my goal to surround my clients with the best teams in all areas,” he told Variety when he made the career move. “This ecosystem is truly that. It’s an environment of forward-thinking people who look beyond the boundaries and walls that are categorically put in place, allowing them to open new doors and reach new peaks that we dream up.”

He's also a musician himself

Prior to becoming a manager, Evan actually played in an indie rock band called Steel Train alongside *the* Jack Antonoff. The band was active for quite some time—from 1999 to 2013, to be exact—and toured alongside tons of cool acts including The Fray, The Juliana Theory, Tegan and Sara, Girl in a Coma, and Ben Folds.

NGL, I'm low-key convinced his friendship with Jack is how Evan and Lana met, especially since the producer collabs with her all the time—most recently on her latest album, Did you know that there’s a tunnel under Ocean Blvd. Case in point? 👇🏼

The math is mathing, people!

He's even booked some enviable gigs

Yep, turns out Steel Train ran a pretty *chef's kiss* late-night circuit and performed their song “Bullet” on The Late Show With David Letterman and “I Feel Weird” on Late Night With Conan O’Brien. Below are the two performances so you can watch the band for yourself. Come for the music, stay for Jack's ✨throwback aesthetic✨.

He has a dog named Henry

And I'm here to report I'm obsessed with him, lol. Evan often showcases pics of his dog, who is v adorbs and decked out in cute 'fits. Witness:

And oop! What's that in the second image from this ^^^ carousel?!?! That would be a Lana sighting hiding in plain sight.

That said, we didn't really get tons of Lana/Evan IG content in general while they were together because....

Evan seems pretty low-key

As in, he and Lana were only spotted, like, two times ever—the first of which was in September 2022 at the Malibu Chili Cook Off and again at Pappy and Harriet’s restaurant in Pioneertown, California in March 2023.

Lana and Evan might not be together anymore

To be fair, since news first broke of their engagement, Lana never *actually* confirmed or denied it.

However!!! During a November 2023 Harper’s Bazaar interview, the crooner revealed her single status when speaking about a recent breakup. TL;DR: Lana said that one of her exes (she didnt't say who 👀) had an ego problem that caused the demise of their relationship.

Specifically, she recalled that the simplicity of her house became an “accidental” litmus test for her partners. “We had some fights over this house, a couple people...They didn’t get it.” “I feel like even the most chill guy doesn’t really want to chill here. Sadly, part of you knows …that ain’t it …That one shocked me. I won’t name names and whatever, but that one really shocked me, that person. That was actually the end of a relationship,” she added.

Later on, Lana made a comment on her Instagram that assured fans her musing was not about Evan, whom she referred to as an “absolute doll to say the least.”

“So do not take any weird press piece comments out of context please—I have no idea why they are linking it to him when I made it absolutely clear that he is wonderful. I gave a no drama, honest interview as usual, I shared my space and my heart so there’s absolutely nothing to be misconstrued on my end—he is the kindest so—that you should know,” she noted on social media.

Despite the protagonist of the singer's story remaining unclear, what we do know is that she and Evan don't seem to be together since in that same Harper's convo, she revealed, “I’m definitely not in love right now. No. Absolutely not in love. Have been, but no.”

When asked whether it’s something she wants, she said, “Well, I’ll tell you. It hasn’t crossed my mind in the last five months on the road or here yet. But give it a week. My history, sure, it’s coming for me at some point. Yeah. It would be interesting if it didn’t. It would be interesting if it didn’t.”

Lana 🤝🏻 always being our relatable queen.
