The Bellevue Police Department (BPD) is bringing attention to sexual misconduct allegations involving minors at a gym after receiving a report from a concerned parent.

The department said it received an initial report on Feb. 23, and initiated an investigation into the incident. The investigation happened over the following weeks.

Several alleged disturbing interactions between a 13-year-old suspect and a 9-year-old child, both of whom attended the Phoenix Gym for Judo training, were revealed during the investigation, the BPD said. Police are withholding the names of those involved since they are minors.

The BPD is appealing to the public for any information regarding this incident or others.

“If you believe you or someone you know may have been a victim of similar inappropriate behavior, we urge you to come forward and contact the Bellevue Police Department,” the BPD said in a press release.

Police say contact them by calling 911 or the NORCOM non-emergency line at 425-577-5656.
