Get Baked With Magnolia Bakery’s New Cannabis-Infused Desserts

Following

New York City dessert icon Magnolia Bakery this week announced a new line of cannabis edibles created through a partnership with incredibles, a licensed cannabis brand owned by Green Thumb Industries (GTI). Through the new deal, Magnolia will create cannabis-infused versions of the bakeshop’s famous banana pudding and red velvet cupcakes, both of which have been reliable fan favorites for years. The new edibles will be available beginning Wednesday at GTI’s Rise dispensaries in Illinois, Nevada and Massachusetts, with wider availability expected in those states beginning next week.

Sara Gramling, vice president of public relations and partnerships at Magnolia Bakery, said “incredibles is a perfect partner as Magnolia Bakery expands into the realm of cannabis edibles.”

“Magnolia Bakery is dedicated to crafting delicious desserts for visitors of all tastes and preferences and can now share our signature flavors with cannabis consumers in three markets,” Gramling said in a statement from the company. “We hope that fans enjoy this all-new way to get baked with Magnolia Bakery.”

Magnolia’s limited-time dive into the cannabis industry will feature two of the brand’s most iconic flavors in a new light, with chocolate bars inspired by its signature banana pudding and red velvet cupcakes. The Swirled Famous Banana Pudding Bar consists of a swirl of creamy vanilla pudding, crunchy vanilla cookies and freeze-dried bananas, containing 10mg THC per piece and 100mg THC per bar. The second offering, Red Velvet Piece Ahhh Cake 1:1 Bar has flavors of moist crimson cake, cream cheese tang and rich dark chocolate, with 10mg THC and 10mg CBD per piece and 100mg THC and 100mg CBD per bar.

Eli Weiner, brand manager for incredibles, said that the company’s “goal is always to deliver wonder, not worry.”

“And no brand is a better fit for delivering wonder to consumers than the iconic Magnolia Bakery. This collaboration merges two award-winning brands to create memorable, disruptive products in the cannabis space,” Weiner writes in an email. “Magnolia Bakery has set the standard for tried-and-true desserts much like incredibles has set the standard for credible edibles that deliver on taste and consistency. We’re confident the synergy between these two brands is a recipe for success!”

Magnolia Bakery opened in New York’s West Village in 1996 and quickly became a neighborhood favorite and destination pit stop for sweets-craving tourists. The company has since expanded, with eight shops in New York City, one in Chicago and another in Los Angeles. Magnolia has also grown beyond its brick-and-mortar presence to offer direct-to-consumer treats through its online storefront, magnoliabakery.com.

“At Magnolia Bakery, we’re always looking at new ways to bring our iconic and world-famous flavors to new audiences in new formats. We’ve seen plenty of response from our fantastic fans enjoying banana pudding or red velvet cupcakes as their munchies of choice and we knew we could combine the two into something amazing,” Gramling writes in an email. “Now, we’ve joined forces with incredibles to create a never-before-been-done dessert experience - all the iconic Magnolia Bakery flavors and incredibles chill packed into two delicious chocolate bars. We hope you enjoy - responsibly!”
