The 21-year-old from Wirral, Merseyside, documented his bargain stay on TikTok.

While George alleged there were several issues with his room, including a leak in the ceiling, a cracked mirror and broken light sockets and bulbs, the production scheduler still gave the hotel a five-star review.

George told Jam Press: "My expectations were very low as I have stayed in many cheap or low-rated hotels before [so] I thought nothing different – basic essentials, probably a little dirty but bearable.

"I think for the price of my room, it was actually a good stay. The room was big, I had a working TV, [the] bathroom was clean, [and] the heating was very good and kept me warm.

"I also thought the bed was really comfy. I didn't complain about any of the issues - the cracked mirror didn’t really bother me and neither did the plug socket, even if it is a little dangerous how exposed that was!

"The two missing lightbulbs annoyed me as the room was already dark, but I couldn’t complain because it was so cheap.

"I have stayed in a hotel room before for £17 but that was for one person so this one I stayed in recently was for two guests at £18 – which brings the cost down by half."

The video has already amassed over 500,000 views on the social media platform, with users using into the comments to share their thoughts.

One person wrote: "Can’t complain for £9, clean bed, toilet and sink and safe."

Another added: "For £9, I’d move into it and live there for months."

Someone else added: "I know where to stay [the] next time I go to Blackpool."

One TikTok user even went as far as to say the hotel was a better deal than their rental accommodation.

They wrote: "Less issues and cheaper than my rent."

Located just a two-minute drive from Blackpool Beach and Central Pier, the White Moon Hotel is close to plenty of entertainment options like arcade games and rides.

Jam Press has contacted the White Moon for comment.

This isn't the first time George has stayed in a bargain hotel in the UK either, as the content creator previously spent the night in one of the lowest-rated hotels in the UK.

The Assheton Arms Hotel in Manchester has a 1.7/5 star rating on Google and a 1.5/5 star rating on TripAdvisor.

George paid £30 to stay at the hotel but was surprised when he lasted the entire night.

He said: "I wanted to see if the reviews on the hotel are justified and give the hotel a chance to redeem themselves from all the bad reviews they have been getting.

"I now understand why one commenter said it was the worst night of his life."

A spokesperson from the Assheton Arms told Jam Press: "We watched the video and it has a positive vibe.

"This is new management who is trying to build the positive reviews of our hotel. We hope to build our reviews to nearly 10 stars."

This certainly isn't the first time a holidaymaker has documented their hotel stay.

Wetherspoons Hotel

Last year, one man posted a video all about his overnight stay at a Spoons pub.

He reviewed his visit to the Doncaster pub on his TikTok channel (@philc84) and was pleasantly surprised by what the hotel had to offer, with its value and comfort eventually winning him over.

The room had a comfy bed and air conditioning too.

Also included in the room were free bottles of water, packets of biscuits, an iron and ironing board, extra towels and pillows and a hairdryer.
