AKRON, Ohio (WJW) – The Pretenders are returning to lead Singer Chrissie Hynde’s home city for their 2024 United States tour this summer.
On July 23 at 8:30 p.m., the new wave rock band will be live at Goodyear Theater in Akron for their “An Evening With Pretenders” 2024 U.S. tour.

With world-famous songs including “Back On The Chain Gang,” “Message of Love” and “I’ll Stand By You,” The Pretenders and Chrissie Hynde have sold over 25 million albums.
Hynde also wrote in 2015, “Reckless: My Life As a Pretender,” about her life, including growing up in Akron and Northeast Ohio. Her memoir was called a “love letter to rock and roll” by the New York Times.
