Location: Ballsbridge, Dublin

Price: €1.85 million (US$2 million)

This brand-new apartment with its own designated wine room is in the private gated Lansdowne Place development in Dublin’s fashionable Ballsbridge neighborhood.

Lansdowne Place is located in the affluent Dublin 4 area, Ireland’s most expensive postal code, said listing agent David Rhatigan, of Sherry Fitzgerald. “Dublin 4 is like our Beverly Hills, our Rodeo Drive, with the most sought-after homes.”

The affluent suburb of Ballsbridge is an “exclusive part of Dublin 4, 10 minutes from the city center,” he said.

The 215-unit Lansdowne Place “is in a league of its own,” Rhatigan said. “There is nothing else in Ireland to compete with it.”

The residences in the new development include one-, two- and three-bedroom apartments, penthouses and duplex townhouses, according to the Lansdowne Place website.

“We’re 80% sold, with 154 units occupied,” Rhatigan said. “We’re now fully completed, on the last stretch.”

About 15% of the buyers are investors looking to rent out the unit and “maybe move into it down the line,” he said.

“We have a lot of international buyers, a lot of wealthy Irish businessmen and women, a lot of people who are living in the country and using it as a pied-a-terre,” he said.

The site was originally the Botanic Gardens for Trinity College Dublin, and all of the buildings are named for renowned Irish botanists, he said.

The two-bedroom Residence 2L, which is in the Harvey building, features an open-plan kitchen and living and dining areas with fold-back glass doors that open to the sunroom, according to the listing. Design details include hardwood floors, floor-to-ceiling windows, marble bathrooms and stone countertops.
