SPRINGFIELD — Rock band Mötley Crüe will headline the Illinois State Fair on Saturday, Aug. 10.
The band from Los Angeles has played for over 40 years and has sold over 100 million albums worldwide, including seven USA platinum and multi-platinum albums, according to a news release. They've had 22 top 40 mainstream rock hits, six top 20 pop singles, three Grammy nominations, five New York Times best-selling books, a star on the Hollywood Walk of Fame, and a Netflix hit movie.
The band continues to tour with John 5 on guitar and recently wrapped up a two-year world stadium tour. The band also has garnered over 5 billion streams across digital platforms, and has over 8 million followers on social media. The band is known for its live performances and sell-out tours.
Tickets will go on sale at 10 a.m. Saturday, March 2, via Ticketmaster. Tickets will range from $88 to $165; $30 pre-show party tickets will also be available.
The 2024 Illinois State Fair runs Aug. 8-18 in Springfield. Other grandstand acts announced so far are Jason Isbell and The 400 Unit with Ashley McBryde on Sunday, Aug. 11, and Jordan Davis with Ashley Cooke and King Calaway on Tuesday, Aug. 13.
In September, the Illinois Supreme Court upheld the Illinois Pretrial Fairness Act, which eliminates the use of cash bail throughout the state. The bill was passed due to advocacy from a broad coalition which successfully demonstrated the public safety benefits of eliminating cash bail.
The discussion features State’s Attorney Kim Foxx of Cook County; Briana Payton, Senior Policy Analyst at the Chicago Appleseed Center for Fair Courts; and Sharlyn Grace, Senior Policy Advisor at the Law Office of the Cook County Public Defender. It is moderated by Rachel Marshall, the IIP’s Executive Director.
