Probationary police officer arrested for alleged DUI one day after academy graduation

HENDERSON, Nev. (KSNV) — A probationary officer in Nevada was arrested for an alleged DUI on Friday, just one day after graduating from the police academy.

The City of Henderson Police Department arrested 34-year-old Chasen Bradford on one count of driving under the influence 1st.

Bradford was hired by the City of Henderson on Sept. 25, 2023. As of Saturday, Bradford is no longer employed by HPD, according to police.

According to a post by the department on X, the arrest came a day after Bradford celebrated his graduation from the police academy.

"Driving Under the Influences poses serious risks to our community and the Henderson Police Department will have zero tolerance for this behavior," HPD said.

Police added that no injuries or other vehicles were involved in the incident.

"Our valley cannot afford to lose further lives due to the actions of our motorists, this includes members of the Henderson Police Department," the department continued in the post.

The investigation continues.
