IBM acquired the company back in 2021. Credit: Laborant / Shutterstock Melbourne-based digital transformation services company SXiQ has fully integrated into parent company IBM after seven years in business. Announcing the move in a LinkedIn post, SXiQ said it had worked with IBM, which acquired the company back in late 2021, over the last few months to bring both businesses together. SXiQ was formed in 2016 following the acquisition of Southern Cross Computer Systems (SCCS) by a private consortium led by managing director John Hanna and Matt McGuire. After this, the company rebranded to SXiQ. The company's specialties include cloud applications, platforms and cyber security, with expertise in transforming and migrating enterprise work loads on cloud platforms like Amazon Web Services (AWS) and Microsoft Azure. At the time of SXiQ’s acquisition, the business’ brand and team were expected to be retained. "We are excited to announce that we are now fully integrated into IBM’s Hybrid Cloud Services and instead of operating as two entities, we have brought the power of SXiQ and IBM together to help deliver faster, smarter, better cloud transformations for our customers," the post read."After seven fun and highly successful years as SXiQ, we’re ready for a new adventure." According to SXiQ "some things won't change at all" such as its plans to deliver application and infrastructure transformation in the cloud, cost optimisation of the cloud and DevOps engineering enablement of cloud ops teams. It also said it would continue to provide its customers access to IBM's capabilities, such as enterprise resource planning (ERP) systems, data and analytics, machine learning and artificial intelligence (AI)."We’d like to thank all of our customers, business partners and team (past and present) for their support over the years, it’s been an incredible journey together. We achieved so many, business-critical, business-changing transformations and we couldn't have done it without you," the post concluded. Both SXiQ and IBM have been contacted for comment.
