WAYNESVILLE, Mo. — Two Pulaski County men have been charged with sexually abusing a 16-year-old.

Online court documents show Patrick Dunn is charged with second-degree statutory sodomy and sexual contact with a student. Court documents say Dunn owned his own cleaning business and worked as a custodian in the Waynesville School District.

Alexander Doyle, a registered sex offender, is charged with second-degree statutory sodomy and sexual exploitation of a minor child in the same case.

According to probable cause statements, both the Department of Social Services Children’s Division and Waynesville High School notified the child’s parent following anonymous tips.

Investigators say Dunn picked the student up and transported him to a residence where the abuse occurred. Videos of the incidents were found on the victim’s iPhone.

Both men are being held in the Pulaski County Jail on $250,000 bond.

OzarksFirst reached out to the Waynesville School District, which issued the following statement about the allegations:

The school district has become aware of a former employee under investigation who has been taken into custody.

Because it is a personnel matter and involves a legal investigation, the district is very limited in what it can say. The district understands that the public may have specific questions that we cannot answer; however, law enforcement officials may be able to discuss issues because they are not bound by the same privacy laws.

The Waynesville R-VI School District has fulfilled all of its reporting duties, including to law enforcement, and is fully cooperating with police officials. No reports of wrong-doing have been reported to the district while the individual was performing their duties for the district. As with all employees, a background check was conducted prior to being hired.

The safety and education of the district’s students will remain our first and most important priority. We ask for the support of the community in helping us make that goal a reality.

The district also told OzarksFirst that Dunn resigned his position on Feb. 27, 2024, but was hired by Penmac as a substitute night custodian and was in that role until March 15, 2024.
