NORTH MYRTLE BEACH, S.C. (WMBF) – An incident report is shedding light on how North Myrtle Beach police got involved in a missing persons case turned murder investigation.

The city of North Myrtle Beach sent WMBF News the incident report on Monday, which is a few weeks following the announcement of Bornold Eberhart’s arrest in Kristin Laymon’s murder.

The report states that North Myrtle Beach police were called to the Club Wyndham along Ocean Boulevard for a missing persons complaint.

Officers met up with Kristin Laymon’s brother, David Laymon, and her daughter, Lauren Blaylock, who were concerned about their loved one’s whereabouts because they had not seen or heard from her since Sept. 8.

Blaylock told officers she had access to her mother’s email and noticed she had booked a stay at the Wyndham for Sept. 22 through the 24. She also received notices in the mail that her mom received a speeding ticket in Marion County on Sept. 22.

The report states that the court date for the speeding ticket was on Nov. 7, so Blaylock and David Laymon drove from Georgia to Marion County in hopes of seeing the victim. But when Kristin Laymon didn’t show to the court hearing, the two went to the Wyndham to gather more information about her stay there, according to the incident report.

The police report states that officers learned from the assistant general manager that Kristin Laymon was with Eberhart when she checked into the hotel on Sept. 22. The assistant GM added that they do not let any other person check in other than the person who made the reservation.

According to the police report, the assistant GM noted that they checked out around 11 a.m. on Sept. 24.

Blaylock told police that her mother and Laymon did have a rental car that they used during their trip in North Myrtle Beach but it had been returned after 10 p.m. on Sept. 24 in College Park, Georgia.

The incident report states when they checked the car back in they did not make contact with anyone at the rental car company.

The North Myrtle Beach Police Department alleges that Eberhart killed Kristin Laymon after a fight in the early hours of Sept. 23.

Investigators also said he took her dead body back with him to Dekalb County, Georgia.

Dekalb County police arrested Eberhart on March 3 and he was extradited to North Myrtle Beach on March 8.

Then on March 9, Dekalb County police located Laymon’s body. Her cause of death has not been determined yet.

Eberhart remains at the J. Reuben Long Detention Center under no bond.
