Outage resolved in east Colorado Springs after impacting thousands

COLORADO SPRINGS, Colo. (KKTV) -

UPDATE (7:45 a.m.): Colorado Springs Utilities appears to have the outage resolved -- and with hours to spare!

Utilities had estimated power would be restored by 11:26 a.m. As of 7:45 a.m., however, the outage is no longer appearing on its website, suggesting crews got power restored well ahead of schedule.

A reason for the outage has not been given.

PREVIOUS: A major power outage is affecting thousands on the east side of Colorado Springs.

According to Colorado Springs Utilities, nearly 7,000 customers are in the dark Tuesday morning just to the north and west of the Colorado Springs Airport. An outage map can be seen at the top of this page.

The outage was reported just before 7 a.m., but no cause has been given at this time.

Springs Utilities estimates power will be restored by or before 11:30 a.m.
