Happy endings may be fine for a Disney movie, but not for a massage business in Eastpointe.
Eastpointe Police Chief Corey Haines confirmed members of his department’s Special Investigative Unit and Detective Bureau conducted a search of Bella Touch Massage Parlor on March 26 after receiving reports from customers that they were offered sexual favors after their massage.
“Customers reported that they went to the parlor for a massage, but after completion of it, they were offered sexual relations for more money,” said Eastpointe Lt. Alexander Holish.
Holish said after receiving complaints for several months, the Eastpointe Police Department conducted an undercover operation. A detective went to the establishment for a massage and after its completion, a therapist allegedly offered to perform sexual acts on the detective.
At that time, the Eastpointe Special Investigative Unit and other detectives executed a search warrant at the business. The owner was not on the premises and police say the immigration status of the employee who was in the building at the time of the raid is undetermined.
Police have turned evidence over to the Macomb County Prosecutor’s Office where the case will be reviewed and charges could be forthcoming. Holish said the same business was searched three years ago under similar circumstances.
Police said the city’s building department is aware of the situation and is working on revoking Bella Touch’s business license.
According to the state Department of Licensing and Regulatory Affairs, Shunhua Wu is the president and director of the business and James C Pedersen is listed as the secretary. The mailing address for the domestic profit corporation is listed as 31555 W 14 Mile Road in Farmington Hills. Date of incorporation is listed as Feb. 25, 2017 and the most recent annual report was filed in May of 2023.
Bella Touch Massage Parlor is located at 16583 E. 10 Mile Rd. in a strip mall on the northwest corner of Gratiot Avenue and 10 Mile Road.
