Jurgen Klopp says Liverpool trio Luis Diaz, Darwin Nunez and Cody Gakpo all sustained injuries in their 4-3 defeat against rivals Manchester United in the FA Cup quarter-final.

Diaz played 114 minutes of the game that went to extra time before being replaced for Bobby Clark. Nunez played the entire match, while Gakpo came on as a second half substitute for Mohamed Salah.

Klopp said to BBC Sport: "Now, the boys go on international duty. We hope they come back healthy. Lucho (Diaz) felt his groin, Darwin (Nunez) hamstring. Cody (Gakpo) twisted his ankle. They play again in four or five days, it's crazy. Hopefully we will finish the season in style."

Substitute Amad Diallo scored a dramatic winner in the additional period of extra time to ensure United sealed their place in the semi-final.

Harvey Elliott had given Klopp's side the lead in extra time, but Marcus Rashford's leveller before Amad's finish ended Liverpool's hopes of lifting a quadruple this season. Klopp maintained his side "will go for everything after the international break".

"The boys gave everything," he added. "Our decision making was not great. You have to accept the result. They deserve to go to the next round. It was a period in the second half when we should have finished it but we didn't and we know they could come back.

"I think my boys showed incredible character again. Super effort again. Everybody showed it. You cannot compare our season to United's with the amount of games. It's fine, we deal with it.

"I'm still proud of what I saw today. They boys have to recover and we will go for everything after the international break."

Man City vs Chelsea, Coventry vs Man Utd in FA Cup semi-finals

Holders Manchester City will face Chelsea in the semi-finals of the FA Cup.

Manchester United's reward for beating rivals Liverpool in a classic quarter-final is a last-four tie with Coventry City.

The semi-final draw leaves open the possibility of a repeat of last year's Manchester derby final where City came out winners on the way to the treble.

Moyes silent on VAR after Soucek's disallowed goal vs Villa

David Moyes says “he has nothing to say about VAR decisions” after Tomas Soucek was denied a late winner in West Ham United’s 1-1 draw against Aston Villa.

Soucek believed he had secured the win in added time, connecting with James Ward-Prowse's free-kick, but a VAR review ultimately ruled it out for handball. Jarrod Bowen and Soucek both tried to push the ball over the line following a header from Konstantinos Mavropanos.

Referee Jarred Gillett and VAR Tony Harrington spent over five minutes deliberating the decision, and the goal was eventually ruled out.

Moyes said: "I have nothing to say on the VAR decisions. You can contact Howard (Webb) yourselves and get the results of who you speak to regarding it. I thought we performed really well in the first half but Aston Villa played well in the second half and put us under pressure. Our performance was good overall and we went on to create more chances.

“Yes (there is frustration) but you have VAR and if they it's right, then maybe they are right? But I think football people see things differently. Maybe that's why I see some of them differently. We two had incidents last week where it hit a player's arm and not one of them went our way.”

U.S. youth international Sullivan, 14, in talks to join Man City

Highly-rated American youth international attacker Cavan Sullivan is in advanced talks to sign with Manchester City, sources briefed on the negotiations tell The Athletic.

The deal isn’t done yet, but the main points have all been agreed, sources say, with only final details to iron out. The plan would be for Sullivan, who is 14, to be loaned to City Football Group club Lommel SK when he turns 16 although nothing is yet determined. He doesn’t have an EU passport so couldn’t play for City until he turns 18.

Sullivan is regarded among the very best young players in the world. He’s part of the Philadelphia Union academy, but is yet to sign a professional contract with the club.

Philadelphia has been working to keep Sullivan, including making the “best-ever homegrown offer ever extended” according to two sources, but Sullivan is in negotiations with City.

Philly would have been open to agreeing a deal in which he could stay with the Union until he turned 18.

Forest expecting to learn PSR fate on Monday

Nottingham Forest are expecting to learn their profitability and sustainability (PSR) fate on Monday.

A hearing to decide on what punishment the club will face for breaching PSR regulations was held last week, on Thursday and Friday.

It was believed that an announcement would come within seven days of the hearing.

It remains unclear exactly what punishment Forest will receive for the breaches — which came during their first season back in the top flight, in 2022-23 — but they will have until April 15 to decide whether they wish to appeal the verdict reached by a three-person independent panel.

The six-point deduction Everton have received (reduced from 10 points on appeal) for similar breaches is regarded by some as a potential bellwether for what Forest can expect — but nobody knows for certain what will happen.

If they do appeal, the backstop for that process to be completed would be May 24, five days after the end of the Premier League season. Everton are also still facing a second round of charges, stemming from breaches during the 2022-23 campaign.

Ralph Hasenhuttl has been named the new head coach of Wolfsburg.

The former Southampton boss replaces Nico Kovac, who left the club earlier on Sunday.

Wolfsburg are without a win in 11 games with Saturday's defeat to Augsburg a third in a row.

Hasenhuttl will take charge of training for the first time on Tuesday.

Wolfsburg, 14th in the Bundesliga table, are next in action against Werder Bremen following the international break.

Pochettino calls for trust from Chelsea fans, supports Sterling

Mauricio Pochettino says Chelsea’s supporters “need to trust me to manage”, as he showed his support for Raheem Sterling who was booed in their 4-2 FA Cup quarter-final victory against Leicester City.

Sterling, 29, missed a penalty and a one-on-one opportunity the first half. A loud ring of boos followed in the second period after he blazed a free-kick over the bar, with the scoreline at 2-2.

He said to BBC Sport: "We need to support him (Sterling), he's an amazing player. He has more than 10 years experience in the Premier League. Of course I think the contribution was good. He was a little bit unlucky with some actions where he should have scored. But we are a team and we need to be there for everyone.

"Fans are entitled to show their emotion. For us we try to emphasise with our fans not to criticise. They want the best for our team and players. But we are in a project. We need support and to really believe. We are trying to build something.

"We are in a process to build the team. I know really well how to manage. What the fans want is to win the game and that we achieved. What the fans want is to go to Wembley and that we achieved. They need to trust me to manage in the way I think is the best way for the club.

"We need to respect their opinion as much as they need to respect my decision."

Kane to report for England duty despite ankle injury

Harry Kane will report for international duty with England despite picking up an ankle injury playing for Bayern Munich on Saturday.

The England captain, 30, collided with a goalpost late on in the 5-2 Bundesliga win over Darmstadt.

He was immediately withdrawn from the game with Thomas Tuchel later revealing he was treating the issue with ice with the head coach hoping for “nothing major”.

Kane was selected as part of Gareth Southgate's squad for the friendlies with Brazil and Belgium earlier this week and Bayern confirmed on Sunday that he would travel back to England as planned.

The club will remain in contact as he undergoes further assessment from his national team's medical staff.

Dahoud to play for Syria

Brighton's Mahmoud Dahoud is poised to make his debut for Syria later this month after switching national allegiance from Germany.

The midfielder, who is on loan to Stuttgart for the rest of the season, will miss Syria's World Cup qualifying match against Myanmar on March 21 for family reasons, but he is available against the same opponents five days later.

Dahoud was born in Syria. The 28-year-old won the under-21 European Championship with Germany in 2017 and he has also been capped twice at senior level.

Dahoud has scored once in eight substitute appearances for Stuttgart since joining them in January. He has dropped out of contention for Roberto De Zerbi's Brighton, having signed last summer on a free transfer from Borussia Dortmund.

Chelsea into FA Cup semi-finals

Chelsea into FA Cup semi-finals

A crazy game at Stamford Bridge has seen Chelsea — eventually — secure their place in the semi-finals of the FA Cup.

Marc Cucurella and Cole Palmer had them 2-0 up at half-time only for Leicester City to come roaring back through a bizarre Axel Disasi own goal and a beauty from Stephy Mavididi.

Extra-time looked inevitable but Carney Chukwuemeka and fellow substitute Noni Madueke grabbed late goals to secure their passage to Wembley.

Three of the four spots are now filled with Manchester United and Liverpool going head to head for the final one shortly.

Wolverhampton Wanderers fear they may have lost Pedro Neto for the remainder of the season.

Neto, 24, missed eight games earlier this season with a hamstring issue and Gary O'Neil has revealed an injury to the other could now rule the Portugal international out for much of — if not all of — the team's run-in.

“With Pedro, that is potentially the end of the season for him," the manager said after Saturday's defeat to Coventry City in the FA Cup quarter-finals.

“It’s very similar to the injury that he suffered on the other hamstring.

“There is a chance that he gets back for the last couple of games, maybe, if it goes really well."

However, there is better news for Matheus Cunha (hamstring), Jeanricner Bellegarde (knee) and Craig Dawson (groin) who could all return after the international break.

Hwang Hee-chan is on track in his own recovery from a hamstring issue and is expected back in five weeks.

A brief history of Man Utd vs Liverpool in the FA Cup to give fans hope

Knock Liverpool out of the FA Cup on Sunday and Manchester United will end their greatest rivals’ attempt to win an unlikely quadruple.

That obviously wouldn’t be a problem for any United fan but the greater focus for them is their own team.

The FA Cup is the only competition left for United to win this season. It could be the trophy that saves manager Erik ten Hag’s job.

Goals from Marc Cucurella and Cole Palmer have Chelsea 2-0 up against Leicester City at half-time of their FA Cup quarter-final at Stamford Bridge.

Cucurella opened the scoring early on after great work from Nicolas Jackson before Raheem Sterling missed the chance to double the home side's lead when he fluffed his lines from the penalty spot.

Palmer, though, made no mistake just before the break as he neatly finished off a Sterling cross into the six-yard box.

Manchester City and Coventry City await one of the two teams in the last four with Manchester United and Liverpool set to battle it out for the final spot later on this afternoon.

ICYMI: Everyone at Spurs needs a big wake-up call - Son

Son Heung-min heavily criticised Tottenham Hotspur's "unacceptable" performance after Saturday's 3-0 loss to Fulham, stating his side needs a "big wake-up call".

Spurs were beaten 3-0 by Fulham at Craven Cottage, failing to score in the Premier League for the first time under Ange Postecoglou.

“It is very disappointing and very frustrating. Everybody has to look in the mirror and say 'it is my fault'," Son told Sky Sports.

“It was not good enough. We didn't put in the effort we have put in this season. The performance, the attitude was not good enough.

“Everyone needs a big wake-up call.

“In the Premier League if you are not ready you get punished. Aston Villa are an amazing team, but so are Fulham. If you are not giving 100% you get punished. You don't get three points for free.

“This is two steps backwards. We now need to step forward. It is unacceptable, including me it was unacceptable. We are representing Premier League teams, we are representing Tottenham."

Man City have 'something special' - Guardiola

Man City have 'something special' - Guardiola

Alex Livesey/Getty Images

Pep Guardiola believes his Manchester City side have "something special" after reaching a record sixth FA Cup semi-final in a row.

Two Bernardo Silva goals were enough to see off Newcastle United on Saturday night as City's quest to replicate last year's treble continues.

Guardiola is proud of his team's efforts as they look to back up that achievement with yet more history.

“After we won the treble, and five titles, we’re coming to the international break with two months left and to be in contention for all the titles means a lot,” he said.

“I know people talk about the Premier League, the Champions League, but to have won four Carabao Cups and (reach) six FA Cup semi-finals in a row, this team, this club, has something special, so it’s incredible.

“Of course we want to win all of them but sometimes this is not possible basically for the quality of the opponents and the schedule we have…but we were there six times in a row.

“Always you can have a bad night or a bad afternoon and to be there six times, you didn’t have a bad night. And for those that doubt the consistency of the team you prove they are wrong.”

Brighton-bound Osman called up by Ghana for first time

Brighton-bound Ibrahim Osman has been called up to the Ghana squad for the first time by new head coach Otto Addo.

The 19-year-old forward from Danish club Nordsjaelland is in the squad with Brighton full-back Tariq Lamptey for friendlies against Nigeria on March 22 and Uganda four days later. Both matches take place on neutral territory in Marrakech, Morocco.

Osman will link up with Brighton in the summer from Norsdsjaelland on a five-year contract in a move worth around £16million after the clubs agreed a deal in February.

Addo, 48, has been reappointed Ghana coach in succession to former Brighton and Newcastle manager Chris Hughton after Ghana failed to qualify from their group at the Africa Cup of Nations in Ivory Coast at the turn of the year.

Addo was in charge of Ghana on an interim basis at the World Cup in Qatar in 2022. They finished bottom of a tough group also containing Portugal, Uruguay and South Korea.

He is relinquishing his role as a talent coach with Bundesliga club Borussia Dortmund in May to concentrate solely on Ghana.
