The El Pomar Foundation awarded tens of thousands of dollars in grant funding to several Boulder County groups this month.

In Boulder, the private foundation gave $20,000 to  the Boulder Public Library Foundation to help build the new North Boulder library branch, which will be at 4500 13th St. El Pomar gave $5,000 to El Centro Amistad, a social services group in Boulder, to support its health and wellness programs.

Elsewhere in the county, El Pomar gave $25,000 to the Lyons Emergency and Assistance Fund for renovations to its building, and gave $20,000 to the Veterans Community Project to help build the Village in Longmont, a planned community of tiny houses for veterans.

El Pomar is a Colorado Springs-based private foundation that gives about $25 million annually in grant funding to support arts, culture, health, human services and other initiatives at Colorado nonprofits. In total, El Pomar made $140,000 in grants to nonprofit groups in the north region, which includes Boulder, Larimer and Weld counties.
