Starbucks Illegally Fired Three Baristas, NLRB Judge Says (Correct)

Starbucks Corp. must rehire three baristas who were illegally fired or forced to resign after organizing some of the first union drives at the company, a National Labor Relations Board judge ruled.

NLRB Administrative Law Judge Geoffrey Carter held Wednesday that the coffee giant had violated federal labor law by firing Casey Moore, Alexis Rizzo, and Samantha Larson, all of whom worked at cafes in Buffalo, New York.

The ruling is another in a long line of ALJ decisions finding that Starbucks’ response to its workers’ nationwide organizing efforts ran afoul of the National Labor Relations Act.
