Earlier this week, Nissan launched “The Arc” business plan from 2024 to 2026 which serves as a bridge between its 2020-2023 NEXT plan and long-term Ambition 2030 vision. It has now provided additional details about its plans in the AMIEO region, consisting of Africa, the Middle East, India, Europe, and Oceania.

Nissan wants to grow its annual sales by 1 million units and of this, 300,000 are expected to come from the AMIEO region. Globally, Nissan will launch 16 new electrified and 14 ICE vehicles through The Arc. Five of these EVs and six new ICE models will land in AMIEO. Europe will lead the way. More than 40% of Nissan’s European sales in 2026 should consist of BEVs while 75% of its sales will be of electrified models. It will also start producing new EVs at its Sunderland plant in the UK. Its new EVs will also include AC bi-directional capabilities, starting in Europe. The continent will also receive five new Nissan EVs over the coming two years, including an electric replacement for the Micra.

In India, Nissan will release three new models and aims to sell 95,000 vehicles across the country in 2026, a significant increase from the 63,000 units sold last year. Two of these new models will be SUVs produced by the firm’s plant in Chennai. Nissan also wants to grow its African sales from 56,000 units to 110,000 and will launch the two Indian-built SUVs in the region. It will also release its first EV in South Africa by 2026.

Those living in the Middle East will soon get five new SUVs, including the two from India. No Nissan EVs will launch in the region as part of The Arc. In Oceania, Nissan will launch four new models, as well as unspecified “additional new electric vehicles.” One of the most compelling new models will be the next-generation Navara co-developed with Mitsubishi.
