WHITE SULPHUR SPRINGS, WV (WVNS) — White Sulphur Springs is where hundreds of women showed up on Tuesday to see friends, eat well, enjoy a little luxury and to be reminded that the sky’s the limit.

The West Virginia Chamber of Commerce 2024 Women’s Leadership Summit was hosted at The Greenbrier Resort, owned by Gov. Jim Justice, drawing women from every industry throughout the state.

WVCC Communication Director Kaylin Jorge said around 500 women attended. The Summit offered an opportunity for women to network and to learn from other women in leadership.

“There’s something that’s so inspiring and so empowering about being around so many fantastic female leaders,” Jorge said on Tuesday, March 19, 2024. “Really, this yea,r I think that we just have a dynamite line-up of speakers. Everyone has kind of played off of each other really well.”

West Virginia State University student Zimren Dixon said it was her first time at the conference.

Being here, too, just being able to see a lot of women, but, then, seeing a lot of Black women, it’s like, OK, there’s still room to grow, but we are growing. We’re moving forward. Even with the current rulings on reproduction rights and things like that, I still feel positive. I feel like, OK, we’re just gonna have to do a little more fighting, but we’re going to get there, and I know these women are going to do it.
