Power restored following overnight outage in Laredo, AEP says

LAREDO, TX. (KGNS) - Power has been restored to roughly 140 Laredo residents following a 12 hour-long outage.

The outage started just before 7:30 p.m. on Monday, March 25.

According to AEP official, the outage happened after a utility crew member damaged a line underground causing power issues to houses and businesses in the Jacaman and Lakeview area.

The power outage continued into Tuesday morning.

Laredo Police stated that traffic lights near Loop 20 and Lakeside were not working and officers were continuing to direct traffic in those affected areas.

As of 9 a.m. AEP officials say that the issue has been fixed and power has been restored to houses, businesses and traffic lights.
