Trump's new apocalyptic money-grab: '24 hours until all hell breaks loose'

Former President Donald Trump has a new apocalyptic message for the MAGA followers whose money he wants to funnel into his campaign coffers.

"We have 24 hours until all hell breaks loose," reads an all-caps text blasted out Thursday afternoon. "It's bad. Really bad."

Trump warns unless his followers don't cough up cash, two terrible things will happen: Democrats will say they are winning and the media will report the MAGA movement is finished.

"But I know that's not true," Trump writes, again in all-caps. "It's time for all of us to send the Democrats, the media, and the Globalist Deep State a message they'lI never forget."

Trump does not mention two recent civil court rulings that amount to more than a half billion dollars in damages.

The message — which the blast suggests would be best conveyed if a million patriots "chip in" a suggested $47 — is that Trump was the greatest president of all time.

Trump raises the specter of a looming Federal Election Commission deadline he does not detail beyond describing as "critical."

It's possible that he is referring to a monthly deadline to report campaign financing, as the missive was sent out on Feb. 29.

This tactic of stressing urgent FEC deadlines with "hyperbole, puffery and overstatement" is a time-tested tradition of both camps.

"The only thing standing between freedom & the TOTAL OBLITERATION of our country is your support," Trump warns. "From the bottom of my heart, I'm asking for you to stand with me just one more time."

The 2024 campaign season has not yet begun to near its peak, rendering it unlikely that this will be the last time Trump asks followers for cash.
