At first glance, League City’s efforts to control access to Helen Hall Library, a public edifice at 100 W. Walker St., seemed more or less reasonable.
That didn’t last past the first the glance, however.

I'm not from League City but from a city further South of League City! I just want to tell tbe City of League City something,.....BRAVO!!!! HARRAYYYYYH!!!.....BROVO Folks!!! It is time every tub sits on it's own bottom! I get so fed up with EVERYBODY & his brother wanting to benefit off somebody else!
What happened to self responsibility? It does my heart good to see SOMEBODY act sensible in this world now and who looks out for their own first, instead of giving this country away to the world's takers. The only thing League City ought to give away free is information and directions on how other municipalities can get their own City Libraries!
P.S. My City as small as it is has a City Library! RIGHT ON!!!! BRAVO TO MY CITY TOO!!!!
How can it be a public library if it’s not open to anyone. Sounds like it is a private library for use by certain people.
Kemah, Clear Lake Shores and Webster do not have libraries but have low or no City taxes.
I agree, why should League City tax payers foot the bill for these communities.
. Getting a Rosenberg Library Card is free!
We WERE footing the bill for an award-winning public library that brought people in from out of town to visit and patronize local businesses while here.
Now we’re going to lose accreditation as a public library meaning our interlibrary borrowing will be gone and eventually half of our curated collection.
It’s a mistake to turn a public library into a private residents-only place. Out of county people won’t be back. Taxpayers were paying for a public library we could be proud of. Now we’re paying for another experiment by the league city council boys that will cost us greatly, like the eyesore and vacant Amazon warehouse on LC Pkwy or Big League Dreams. These guys are building the plane while flying it and it is not good.
Welcome to the discussion.
