Georgia woman allegedly killed in North Myrtle Beach, SC had strange $1,000 bank charge

The Georgia woman who was allegedly killed in North Myrtle Beach had an unusual transaction on her bank account made shortly before she went missing.

On Sept. 23, Kristin Laymon, 53, went missing is and thought to have been killed. She stopped contacting her family, including her daughter, and stopped making bank transactions, according to the police report. Her daughter reported her as missing on Oct. 9.

Laymon’s daughter said she noticed her mom had overdrawn her bank account, had a $1,000 charge for bitcoin and had received multiple emails her overdrawn bank account. The daughter said that was strange behavior for Laymon as she is typically fiscally responsible and doesn’t use bitcoin, the police report said.

Bornold Eberhart allegedly killed Laymon, according to North Myrtle Beach Police. Eberhart and Laymon traveled to a resort in North Myrtle Beach on Sept. 22. On March 8, Eberhart was arrested, charged with murder and brought to North Myrtle Beach, The Sun News reported.

Laymon was last seen alive at 2:12 a.m. on Sept. 23, after she and Eberhart had gotten into a fight. Her body was found on March 9 outside Atlanta, at 1800 block of Whitehall Forest Court.

Laymon was a substance user who “usually drifts around,” her daughter told police. After confirming that Laymon had not been arrested elsewhere, Duluth Police listed Laymon as a missing person.

Duluth Police contacted North Myrtle Beach regarding Laymon’s disappearance on Nov. 8, according to North Myrtle Beach Police.

Laymon’s cause of death is currently unknown. Police have also not shared her relationship with Eberhart.

There will be a press conference about Laymon’s death in North Myrtle Beach at 2 p.m.
