Brick man killed in NJ parkway crash Thursday in Wall

WALL TOWNSHIP - A Brick man was killed Thursday afternoon in a Garden State Parkway crash, according to authorities.

At 3:07 p.m., troopers responded to a motor vehicle accident on the Garden State Parkway south, at milepost 100.3 in Wall, state police said.

Based on an initial investigation, a Hyundai passenger vehicle and Jeep SUV were traveling south when the Hyundai collided with the back of the Jeep, police said. After the impact, the Hyundai continued south, running off the road and striking two sign supports before going down an embankment and through a fence.

The driver of the Hyundai - Joseph Pace, 54, of Brick - sustained fatal injuries as a result of the crash, state police said. There were no other injuries reported.

State police said the accident remains under investigation.
